'Full Metal Jousting' adds steel armour to 12th century sport

Jamaican Times (ANI) Monday 6th February, 2012

Jousting, a sport from 9 centuries ago, is getting a modern day makeover thanks to History Channel's new series "Full Metal Jousting".

The show, which premiers on February 12 at 10/9c, replaces traditional armour with suits of steel and will have 13 jousters competing for a cash prize, Fox News reported.

Each episode will capture a full-metal joust where two men charge at each other at 30 miles an hour to take their opponent down, and the one left standing in the end will be declared the winner.

The first exclusive clip for the series shows the jousters practice for the real fight by getting hit by three aluminium bats, while in the second clip a jouster is seen getting back up after taking what is described as a "devastating hit". (ANI)
